"The State of the County" at Upbeat Breakfast
The Chamber is pleased to present Commissioner Rick Currie at January's Upbeat Breakfast on January 13th. Commissioner Currie will present the annual "State of the County". 2009 Special Olympics Torch Passes Through Coeur d'Alene The 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games are coming to Boise, Idaho February 7th - 13th. The Winter World Games will be the largest multi-day winter sporting event ever held in Idaho. The Olympic Torch will enter the State of Idaho on January 29th in Coeur d'Alene at 8:30am at the 3rd Street Boat Launch with a short presentation there and then continue to the Coeur d'Alene Library for a presentation. After the presentation approximately 140 police officers will join the torch for a pre-determined route in Downtown Coeur d'Alene (approximately 2 miles). From there, the torch will travel around North Idaho visiting a number of communities promoting the Special Olympics World Winter Games. Chamber Days at the Legislature
Join us February 8th - 10th in Boise for the Idaho Chamber Alliance's Chamber Days at the Legislature as we continue to collaborate with neighboring North Idaho Chambers and other chambers from around the state to advocate business interests. Chamber Days is a great opportunity for members to engage important legislative issues first hand by meeting with legislators and leadership and representing the interests of North Idaho. Registrants may choose from a selection individual events or they may take advantage of the $149 package price that includes all five main events. Registration deadline for Chamber Days at the Legislature is January 30th, 2009. Registration expenses do not include costs associated with transportation and lodging. Kids' Carnival Seeks Sponsors The Coeur d'Alene Arts and Culture Alliance is pleased to partner with Art on the Edge again in 2009 to present the 4th Annual Kid's Carnival on February 14th! From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. kids of all ages are invited to the Resort Plaza Shops where they can participate in a variety of art activities for only $5 (sponsorships available). Volunteer artists donate their time to provide music, pottery, painting, clowns, theater and much more for the children that attend.
