International Classic and Antique Boat Show SPONSORED BY NORTHWEST DODGE DEALERS Coeur d'Alene is proud to be the host city for this year's Antique and Classic Boat Society's Annual International Boat Show. The event is being held on September 19th and 20th at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Marina. Antique and Classic boats will line the Boardwalk for the public to enjoy. Please note that this event replaces the Wooden Boat show that is traditionally held in August. Mark your calendars for this unique event!

Citizen of the Year Nominations We are now accepting nominations for the Citizen of the Year Award. The award will be voted on by the Executive Committee after considering all nominations that are received. The purpose of the Citizen of the Year Award is to recognize and show appreciation for the volunteer efforts of a community member who has exhibited generosity and service beyond the call of duty through their own actions on behalf of the community. The award honors members for their altruistic philosophy and compassionate service for the benefit of others. The submission is to be made to the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce, 105 N. First St., Ste. 100, Coeur d'Alene ID 83814 or email brenda@cdachamber.com with no more than two attachments, no later than October 3rd, 2008. New Educator's Reception The Education Committee will be hosting it's annual New Educator's Reception, sponsored by Numerica Credit Union, on September 24th at the Chamber building. Invitations will be sent to new educators from School District 271, North Idaho College, LCSC-Cd'A and UI-Cd'A. The event welcomes new educators and gives them a chance to meet others in the educational system. Donations are being accepted for welcome bags and door prizes. Celebrate the Arts in October The arts & culture scene is coming on strong in Coeur d'Alene and we'll be celebrating the 6th annual Art from the Heart event from October 2nd - 11th. The purpose of this event is to give community members a taste of the arts in our area and to give art organizations a chance to demonstrate their talents. Events include music, lectures, art displays, theater and opera performances, art events for kids and an architecture walk. Annual Banquet Changes to Luncheon

The Coeur d'Alene Chamber Board has decided to change the Annual Banquet to the Annual Luncheon program for our members, sponsored by Washington Trust Bank. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 23rd from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The program's featured speaker will be Scott Morris, CEO of Avista Corporation. The luncheon will also hold the drawing for the 1966 Mustang raffle car. Tickets for the luncheon are $30 per person and company tables can be reserved for $300 for a table of eight.
