In pursuit of this Mission, the members of the Business Development Committee will:

  • Organize, promote and support the annual Kootenai County Job Fair;

  • Using both in-person meeting and web based communications, develop Affinity Groups including one focusing on members that have been in business for under 3 years as a means for sharing information, providing skill training and peer advice;

  • Develop a sub committee to determine the feasibility of creating a WEBINAR series through which member businesses can provide valuable business skills and information to other members using our web site to deliver that information;

  • Promote and develop workshops on business skills and information that address the concerns and needs of the chamber membership and the community;

  • Determine in-house video conference capability and make it available to Chamber members;

Business Excellence Awards

Each month the Business Development Committee awards a “Business Excellence” award to a member of the Chamber. The award will be given to a business that has achieved excellence in either: Customer Service, Innovation, Community Service or Impact.

The award will be presented monthly at the Upbeat Breakfast. In addition, the award winners are publicly recognized among their community chamber members in the monthly newsletter and on the Chamber website for a month.

An award plaque will be given to the business to display at their place of business for years to come!
